As County Commissioner for District 4 since 2013, Commissioner Wright has been part of a long list of making progress for residents of Athens.

  • Ending fare for public transit for school children, the disabled, and the elderly

  • Supporting and improving public safety

  • Affordable housing initiatives

  • Addressing discriminatory tactics at bars and ongoing improvements for reporting violations

  • Helping residents and businesses navigate life during and after the COVID-19 pandemic

Future Progress.

When re-elected, Commissioner Wright will be devoted to helping residents of District 4 navigate upcoming challenges.

  • Protect District 4 neighborhoods with future land use decisions

  • Protect the current diversity of housing options in the District

  • Prevent rezoning of our current family zoning in residential areas

  • Collaboration with the Downtown Development Authority and UGA to keep The Classic City “Classic”

  • Advocate for residential traffic Improvements and traffic calming

  • Continued oversight of community needs and American Rescue Plan funding distributions
